Burn Some Energy

Did you know that fat is stored energy? If unwanted fat is keeping you from enjoying these hot temperatures here in the greater Phoenix area, there are a number of things you can do right this minute to shed those pounds away and lose weight. Especially in Arizona, women wish they could melt more than the ice in their drink, FAT!

How do you get rid of fat?

The only way to rid your body of excess fat is to use it as fuel which you need for exercise. Also you need fuel to go about your daily life as well. Does that seem simple? Most women have trouble expending MORE energy than they take in through the foods they consume.

What is the best approach to burn fat? There are a few things:

- The Reason. What's your incentive to achieve a healthy lifestyle? There are so many people in the world suffereing from obesity, diabetes, and other health hazards that you should want to do anything to help make your life a healthy one.

- The Proper Exercise. Fat burning requires your body to be challenged, working the large muscle groups, and utilizing exercise techniques such as high intense bursts to turn your muscles
on to 'burn the fat' mode. All exercise is not created equal - distance running for example can be good for your overall fitness, but your body gets used it because your body is in a state of long steady cardio, it's not being challenged.

- Weight Work. No matter how old you are, it's important to use weights to build muscle mass. Muscles actually use the fat as fuel. So you need to use them!

- Fuel Your Body with Proper Foods. Working out is the easy part, but maintaining a proper nutrition plan is a must if you want to see changes in your body. You need to fire up your bodies fuel burning engine at least 5 times per day. This will boost your metabolism so you can burn calories even at rest. A must is high protein in each meal and snack through out the day. Ladies, do not starve yourself, this does NOTHING for you and does nothing for your metabolism.

- Attitude is Everything. Keep going forward and make healthy choices. Everyone experiences occasional setbacks, however don't let that deter you from your ultimate fitness goals. You do things out of habit everyday, and making healthy choices and exercising should be a part of those habits as well. Make it a priority.

- Teamwork. Make sure you surround yourself with positive encouraging people who can support your healthy choices. This will help you to be accountable since we tend to be hard on ourselves. Having a sense of camaraderie makes boot camp a fun atmosphere to be in.
