January is the month of resolutions, and no doubt health and fitness is the most popular choice to start off the New Year around the world. Of course, New Year's resolutions are conveniently right after the biggest holiday ‘eating’ season there is. Many resolutions start off with a bang and with some good intentions but somehow along the way they fizzle out somewhere around Valentine’s Day with ingesting large quantities of chocolate. This year, don’t fizzle out! Instead, set some realistic goals for the New Year and see to it that you complete them.

- Set a long term goal and a short term goal. Sure, you may want to lose 50 pounds, but start in increments of 10 pounds and keep going until you reach your goal of losing 50 pounds. Pick a date in which to do it by and reward your self with a new pair of jeans or shorts.
- You need to have help and support with your fitness plan. Put a plan into action under the guidance of the Chandler personal trainers in Body Envy Boot Camp. Enlist a partner, family, friend or co-worker to join you in boot camp or make new friends who are trying to reach the same fitness goals as you.
- You might struggle at times but be prepared and know what your weaknesses are and get ready to fight through them. Is your weakness sugar, comfort eating, or an overall bad diet? By figuring out what could potentially hold you back, you can mentally prepare to attack that struggle head on.
- Take action! Maybe you just don’t even like to exercise – then get comfortable looking and feeling the way you are. You can’t expect to look any different if you don’t make the choice to get up off the couch. Wishing your self to lose weight doesn’t happen. You have to take the first step, even if your first step is off the couch.
- You HAVE to have a plan, and write it down. The idea of being healthy and fit is great, but it doesn’t work if you don’t have a plan and take action!

Remember to keep active, healthy, and stay positive. Stick with your resolutions to be a happier healthier new you this year.
